I borrowed this book from my sister.
It's called Mountaineering Women, Stories by Early Climbers by David Mazel.
Anyways, I can't wait to start reading it.
Apparently women were making first ascents back in the 1800's in rock climbing and mountaineering! It is just now coming about that these women are getting recognition for what they did back then. (Imagine that?)
It looks so interesting. There are pics in there with regular static ropes and the gear they used back then was just crazy! And women climbed in those hideous dresses they had to wear back then. Can you believe it? Not until the early 1900's does it show them in pants!
I can't wait to read more. When I do, I'll come back to this blog.
Women are bad ass! Not only do we go through the pains and labor of childbirth and PMS, but we nurture and care for our families and we endure so much in so many different ways, and on top of all that we do, we can still do what any man out there can do!
And to think we had to fight all those years to be recognized, have rights, vote, work, etc. ...climb mountains...
